NATO Days in Ostrava 2010 to be also Czech Air Force Days

The upcoming tenth NATO Days in Ostrava will come to see one of the most important changes in history of the show – Czech Air Force Days will run in its framework for the first time.

Jiří Verner, commander of the Czech Air Force. “Czech Air Force hasn’t had its official show since we entered NATO. And it is mutually profitable to join efforts with NATO Days in Ostrava show, whose quality, international prestige, and number of visitors in the past years grew steadily. It also is important, that due to parameters of Mošnov airfield it is possible to organise this event and that it is a non-commercial event admission free at the same time, which will naturally be kept,” explained Verner.

“We more than welcome this decision. If we have an ambition to have an event with European significance in the Czech Republic, then connecting mutual efforts is one of ways to achieve such a goal,” reacted Zbyněk Pavlačík, the chairman of the Jagello 2000 Association. “This step significantly improves chances of getting interesting planes and vehicles, which is not easy, especially in these days,” added Pavlačík.

German tanks have been among the world elite in this type of military equipment for very long time. Tradition of German tank school can be tracked since the World War II, when Tigers and Panthers decimated their opponents on European battlefield. On the NATO Days visitors will have the opportunity to see the follower of these famous war machines – Leopard 1 from the collection of the Military Historic Institute.
